2009 EXHIBITOR INFORMATION & APPLICATION
Mission and Purpose
NPSA is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization founded in 1912. The purpose
of the Association is to bring together persons residing in the
States of Oregon and Washington and the Provinces of British Columbia
and Alberta who desire to enhance the science and art of surgery
and the quality of surgical practice through scientific meetings
and professional discussions.
We hold the Annual Scientific Meeting on the second full weekend
of November to keep member surgeons up-to-date on the latest in
medical research and clinical practice. Scientific presentations
cover general and specialty surgery. AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™
is offered, in addition to MOCOMP Certification for Canadian members.
At the 2008 Annual Meeting, 14 Continuing Medical Education credits
were offered to attendees. Most presentations are published each
year in the American Journal of Surgery.
Members
Association members are community and academic surgeons who live
in the Pacific Northwest. Members come from one of six caucuses
in Portland, Tacoma, Vancouver, BC, Spokane, Victoria, BC/Alberta,
and Seattle. Annual Meetings rotate at each caucus in the order
above.
Total attendance at last year’s NPSA Annual Meeting in Seattle
was 147 with 100 surgeons.
