2009 EXHIBITOR INFORMATION & APPLICATION

Mission and Purpose
NPSA is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization founded in 1912. The purpose of the Association is to bring together persons residing in the States of Oregon and Washington and the Provinces of British Columbia and Alberta who desire to enhance the science and art of surgery and the quality of surgical practice through scientific meetings and professional discussions.

We hold the Annual Scientific Meeting on the second full weekend of November to keep member surgeons up-to-date on the latest in medical research and clinical practice. Scientific presentations cover general and specialty surgery. AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ is offered, in addition to MOCOMP Certification for Canadian members. At the 2008 Annual Meeting, 14 Continuing Medical Education credits were offered to attendees. Most presentations are published each year in the American Journal of Surgery.

Members
Association members are community and academic surgeons who live in the Pacific Northwest. Members come from one of six caucuses in Portland, Tacoma, Vancouver, BC, Spokane, Victoria, BC/Alberta, and Seattle. Annual Meetings rotate at each caucus in the order above.

Total attendance at last year’s NPSA Annual Meeting in Seattle was 147 with 100 surgeons.

North Pacific Surgical Association is pleased to invite industry exhibitors to our 96th Annual Meeting being held on November 13-14, 2009 at the Benson Hotel in Portland, OR. NPSA was founded in Portland, Oregon in 1912 and is one of the oldest surgical societies in the United States and Canada. We have a membership of over 330 elected surgeons from the Pacific Northwest (Alberta, British Columbia, Oregon and Washington) with caucuses in Portland, Tacoma, Seattle, Spokane, Victoria/Alberta and Vancouver, B.C. General surgeons are our primary audience, with an expected attendance of 125 at this meeting.

The 2009 scientific meeting will present 22 clinical and scientific research papers in areas of clinical surgery, oncology, trauma, critical care, colorectal and breast surgery, laparoscopic surgery, bariatric surgery and others. Papers are subsequently published in The American Journal of Surgery. You can review abstracts from prior meetings here on our website. Continuing medical education credit will be provided by the American College of Surgeons, and by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. Our visiting professor this year will be Dr. Lawrence Way, a nationally known surgical educator, Professor of Surgery, and Director of Videoscopic Training Programs at UCSF.

Exhibitor fees for a table and registration for one representative starts at $1,500 USD, at $2,500 for two representatives, and at $3,500 for three representatives. Exhibitor companies receive recognition on our website and program book.

We are planning vendor passports to encourage participation. You will have a display table in the exhibitor area near the conference room and will talk with attendees during breakfast, session breaks, and at our Friday Vendor Luncheon. You also have the option to join attendees at the Friday evening New Members Reception and Dinner at the McMinnville Air Museum at additional cost.
